The Threat of Change Can Paralyze the Will

October 10, 2023

The ego’s fear of change can cause the will, mind, and heart to shut down and refuse to internalize new information. Growth is felt as a threat. This is because of the ego’s attachment to the Other that formed its world and its desires. Once this has been superseded by the soul’s love of God, the bondages of the ego fall away, and the Infinite Self is revealed.

Our Fear of Death Is Also Our Fear of Life

The subject of this satsang is death, a fear of which is endemic to every ego. Fear of death also amounts to fear of life—fear of taking risks, individuating, and entering the unknown Self. From this perspective, even the chakras belong to the fictional identity of the embodied ego. Liberation comes through awakening from the illusion altogether and recognizing the one undifferentiated light that is already fully present.
