Question:

I rarely tell myself to feel shame for living a human existence. However, there are others (egos/characters) who attempt to humiliate me. How do we keep our dignity in the space of humiliating situations prompted by others?

All such occurrences should be received as blessings. They motivate one to become egoless and immune to hurt. Once the Supreme Self has been realized, then the world dream also morphs and all is perceived as the manifestation of perfect beauty and goodness. Surrender your mind and heart to God and you will no longer live a human existence, but your bodily vessel will become a living temple of the Divine Presence.

QUESTION:
How to purify the ego projections? It is impossible to act appropriately in this “world” (especially with my son) knowing that everything is my ego’s projection and not knowing how to stop it.

Shunyamurti’s Reply:
You must offer your heart and mind to God. Keep thoughts and feelings of divine love flowing through your mind while awake. Be in acceptance of all that happens. Have faith that God is the Power directing all this, and God is loving and good. Once you build the fire of love in your heart, you will feel the warmth of God’s love and protection in return. Your life will be guided firmly by the uplifting will of our merciful Lord.

In answering a question about the relationship between tapas (heating sanskaras with the inner Light) and shunyata (emptying out all projections and turning within), it becomes clear that by returning to the Source of the Light, the power of tapas increases exponentially. Thus, the two are complementary aspects of meditation practice that ultimately are recognized as the same.
